Damn I'm good

P7090008
(and I'm probably going to get hit by a bolt of cyber lightning for being so full of hubris too)

But I am pretty dang proud of myself (another one of those deadly sins.) As you can see, I've been messing around with things on the blog again. Since the last time I got all full of myself and tried my hand at php and mysql-ing and totally messed up the Mess, I've been trying to accomplish the integration of some kind of web-based photo gallery with little success. fAlbum through Flickr as I mentioned had been a pain in the ass from the get-go. Then I found a nifty plug-in for another Photo Album so I could easily insert my flickr pics in my blog and it was supposed to also make a gallery page, but I only got the insert part working and the photo gallery is still nonfunctioning. (I read and reread all the support forums I could find for it and even joined a Flickr group dedicated to it all to no avail. Bastards.)

When reading in the Knitty Coffeeshop, I saw a reference to Gallery. And after much screwing around, but no accidental deleting (!) I got it to work. The only drawback I can see currently is that I haven't figured out a way to integrate it seamlessly into my blog theme. (That was supposed to be the coolio thing about the Photo Album plugin.)

Because I still can't integrate it into my blog theme I have to set it up as an outside link. You can get there (and then bookmark it bitch!) by clicking THIS link or by clicking the link in the sidebar under "my other homes on the web ---> My gallery. You are also required to leave comments on as many photos as you can. ***

***I'm thinking this may make a great blog contest. I'll think about this one for a bit and get back to you...

  1. Wait a sec. Your gallery. It's all your pics posted to flickr? But - I can see those. I can't see the pics in your posts, but I can see your gallery just fine. Neat! Flickr is blocked for me now so I'm rather po'd at websense right now. Phooey.

    Off to the gallery!

  2. I've gotten the Flickr Photo Album plugin *almost* running correctly. The interface to put flickr pics into posts is working great.

So currently, I have two photo galleries running. I'm going to keep them both going until I can test out all the functionality of both and decide which one I like better.

Opinions from readers on which one they like better would be greatly appreciated.

  3. Check out WPG2: http://wpg2.galleryembedded.com/index.php/Main_Page

It's a plugin that bridges Wordpress and Gallery2.
