Ah summer, thank god it's here!
Things will probably be winding down around here for awhile. The girls get out of school next week for one thing so images like the above will be the norm for us.
Plus I discovered this morning that my laptop power supply is farked up again. I went through a 4 month process of getting a new power cord last year about this time and having to make many calls and reports to Toshiba Direct until I got the situation resolved. Now it appears that the new one has broken off inside the socket and from all I've read about this model of computer, it can't be fixed. It seems that Toshiba's engineers thought it would be a brilliant idea to hard solder the power socket directly to the motherboard. This way, when (not if) it breaks off, it can't be repaired, you just need a new motherboard. Planned obsolescence at it's best. So with the small remaining battery power I have left on it today I will be hurriedly backing up all my files and programs on a removable drive and trying to find another 1k or so in my ass to pull out to buy a new machine. Have no fear, it will NOT be a Toshiba, nor will it probably be a honking ginormatron 17" model either. Seeing as my PC is a piece of obsolete snail speed crap, I don't know how often I'll manage to podcast either. I prefer to do my recording in semi-privacy, partly because I don't want background noise and partly because I feel more than just a little insane talking to myself and to my imaginary friends OUTLOUD in my den.
On another note, I'm going through some rough personal things right now too. Because I don't want this blog to get to be more about my personal mental health issues and all that bullshit, I'm going to be brief and just say that I have to face the fact once again, that I can't do this on my own. This time I'm going to try to find that happy medium (happy being the operative word) and maybe a better doctor and try adding a pinch of counseling to the mix to see if I find a way to be a functioning human being and still manage to maintain a sense of the "Real" me.
Now I have lots of pretty pictures to share, enjoy.
