Pattern: Cable Cascade Pullover
Source: Interweave Knits Fall 2005
Designer: Jennifer Appleby
Yarn: Cascade 220 Superwash
Color: #803 Royal Purple
Notes:
Pattern notes: I encountered a few fussy spots when I couldn't understand the pattern the way it was written but the pattern repeat is easy to *read* so I was able to pretty easily figure out what needed to be done via intuition. Could be that my visual abilities outweigh my pattern reading abilities (or maybe I was just drunk.) Stitch patterns are provided via a chart, if you aren't a chart reader it doesn't look too difficult to translate into knitpatternese.
Yarn Notes: Cascade 220 may just be my favorite all around do (almost) anything yarn. Works up nicely, soft hand, durable, great colors. I chose the Superwash for this sweater because I'm all about the easy care for a pullover like this that I'll wear alot. I did purchase almost 2x the amount of yarn that I ultimately needed for this pullover. Can't decide if I'll take the leftovers back on Friday when I go to Knitting Circle or if I'll just make a big scarf or something out of it. (I'm leaning toward an Irish Hiking Scarf.)
Wow, that looks really great. You know I've never knit with Cascade 220, I'll have to score some for my next big project.
ReplyDeleteI love the lines of that sweater, it looks like it will hang really nice...great job!
