Have I mentioned that I'm turning 40 today?

Bwahahahahaha!

It is a week long event in case you didn't know. Yesterday we had carrot cake and gifts from the Mr. Mess and the Messy Children (jewelry, gawd they're good!) This morning I had a one sentence greeting on my voice mail from my mother and a Hallmark e-card in my inbox from a friend. The only other things I have planned for today were my morning walk with the dogs and my friends and some yard work. I just made an appointment at an Aveda salon for a mani/pedi and haircut on Thursday. Friday is my big PARTY/dinner at McNally's Irish Pub. The band is a U2 tribute band that is supposed to be phenomenal.

I'm also considering adding another creature to our menagerie. I've been wanting another kitten for some reason and my friend Erin just got the cutest little black kitten last week (named Sirius Black!) and I feel totally enabled now. Steve is "okay" with another cat and would prefer a kitten (I may go with one a bit older just so I don't have to do the neutering/shots/training thing again.) The rescue organization here has a litter of black polydactyl kittens available. I'm sure one of them is the perfect match for me. I just want one that will snuggle and purr for me.

What I absolutely must not do is do look at the puppies at the shelter, you know, just to see how cute they are...I will not have three dogs! YOU HEAR ME? No more dogs!!!! Sigh, I'm such a sucker. Good thing Mr. Mess has made it perfectly clear, him or another dog. Dogs don't cook me dinner, buy me jewelry or treat me like a queen I guess I'll stick with one husband and only two dogs. But I still hear that little kitten out there somewhere purring my name.

Knitting related content:

I think I found something else I may just have to spend some of my birthday money on, check this out! Please be nice and leave some for me if I forget to get back there later tonight. Emily has a spectactular eye for color. Jodee and Carla have both brought some of her yarn to Friday Knitting and I've been coveting it ever since. I see at least a half dozen colors in that picture that I want/need/must have!

I did buy more yarn on Friday and Knitting Group...I'll go take it out in the sunshine and photograph it for your viewing pleasure here in a second. Then I really must get to work on cleaning out more flower beds. Spring will be here in two days, I must be ready!
