I'm getting my new space together and I can safely say for the time being it is NOT a mess. The old space is however quite a mess but I'm working on it. A quick click on the above picture will take you to the album of more pictures. I also updated the Studio Tour Page
Minerva is my lovely antique dressform. She doesn't quite function as a true dress form unless I decide to start wearing a corset or something but she is a lovely companion when I'm hanging out in my workroom. I picked her up at a garage sale a few summer's ago. She scares the children so I'd say she was a good purchase.
Isn't this a bright cheery corner for inspiring one to retake up the sewing hobby? I love that I finally have place to display my Crazy Rays quilt. It used to be in the den but the colors were too bright and the red was the wrong shade. I also love my purple table. This was our old kitchen dining table but it didn't fit in this house. Then we moved it to our lake house and I painted the legs a "Adobe Rose" aka dark pink. It looked okay there but it was still a fugly color. Yesterday I remembered a quart of dark indigo purple I had stashed away and repainted to match my room and my quilt. I also painted the drawers on the little Ikea drawer organizer in the corner. Pretty nifty huh?
That's a super nifty room! I want a Minerva, too. To scare the child. That would rock!
ReplyDeleteI have a Minerva, too. I've never named mine, but she wears some elegant handknit (knit by me) sweaters or even a glittery skirt now and then. My grandkids always complained that she scared them. I found my 'Minerva' in the garbage pickup one day and went to the house and asked if I could have her. I enjoy her presence in the corner of my bedroom.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the room! The colors are great. I miss seeing you on fridays. Let me know if anyone gets together to knit at another time. I miss group knitting. Hope things are going great.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely room!! Someday, someday, I'll have a craft room of my own and it will be messy. :)
