Way back when Etsy was new (Nov. 2005), I set up a shop to try to sell my digital mandalas. I had allowed my listings to expire because I hadn't had any sales and honestly, I lost interest.
In the mean time my laptop took a shit and died and I lost my login information. When I decided to restart my Etsy shop I tried logging in with what I thought was my old username but it kept coming up invalid. I knew etsy had undergone some changes and I figured my old account had been lost in the changes. So I set up a new shop.
Well lo and behold, I found my old shop (I had forgotten one letter in my username). I relisted a few of my original mandalas. I have to confess one reason I did this is kind of snotty. You see, while browsing around Etsy the other day I found another seller with mandalas almost identical to mine. At first I freaked, thinking she must have seen my original shop and copied my idea. But after reading her profile and website, I realized that it is just one of those weird coincidences that happens in the creative world. I reinstated my shop anyway just so I could "prove" that mine was there first if there was ever a 'chicken or the egg' issue later. I also contacted her and complimented her on her beautiful photography and told her about my original shop. This led her to my handbag shop and she ended up ordering a purse from me. I in turn ordered one of her original photo prints. To be quite honest, her mandalas are nicer than mine and she prints, mattes, and frames hers herself. She also has some stunning art photographs. So in the interest of good karma I'm going to share her work with you. NaturesMandalas
I also added a MiniEtsy to my sidebar for both of my Etsy shops.

Tomorrow is Good Friday, this means that the Mess Girls will be off school. MiniMe has already planned a return trip to Woodfield Mall with her BFF and Daddy Mess to exchange some shirts she bought on our last trip there. That leaves me with Little E to hang with all day. It is also Friday Knitting at the LYS. I missed last week because of our trip to the city and CrazySockLadyCarla ;) has STR yarn for me, I have to go tomorrow. So I guess unless E gets a better offer she'll be joining me and the knitting ladies for fun discussions of yarn balls and dogs that knit. Or something like that. She actually came with me the first time I went to Friday Knitting, she's an old-timer now!
Hey, tell Little E we'll be glad to see her and whatever cool knitwear she chooses to sport tomorrow. We remember her fondly. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you know what is important....yarn!
