I'm flitting all over the place today like a drunken butterfly. So bare with me, it's going to be an eclectic ride...

First of all, I've been sewing again. Specifically, purses.

And setting up my Etsy Shop

I also made a trip to Joann's today for interfacing. (Read: I went there for interfacing and loaded my cart with misc. notions somewhere in the $100 neighborhood.) I think I'm good to go in the sewing, knitting (I didn't actually buy anything knitting related, I received an $80 gift certificate to my LYS from my BFF's for my birthday, not going to be spending real money at Joann's for crappy knitting stuff, pfffft!), notion-y department.

Before coming home I swung by the camera store that is in the same location as the camera store I worked at 14 years ago B.C. (before children). I've been eyeing new camera bags/backpacks with our trip to Scotland in mind. I prefer to shop locally whenever possible, especially if I can shop at a store that is independentally owned. So I stopped in to see if they had the type I was looking at online, and they did. While there I also picked up a "studio in a bag" to use to photograph my Etsy stuff. Pretty nifty. (The one I got isn't as kick ass as the one in the link, I can't find the one I bought. Whatever.)

Mr Mess is home this week. It works out that from New Years until just about now every year he is on the road 3-4 days out of 7 and never quite able to "sign off" when he is home. It is just the nature of his job. So as soon as he can take a break he does. Last week the girls were off for Spring Break, this week he is home. (Insert woman-who-is-used-to-her-personal-space-from-8-3-everyday lament here). Honestly it isn't so bad. He is taking the time to get his "spring cleaning" done. Namely, clearing the woods of downed branches, power-spraying the house, etc. Manly stuff. Plus he is here everyday to do all the cooking. BONUS!

We don't have a phone right now. How turn of the century is that? Yesterday after school Little E wanted to call a friend but discovered we had no dial tone. After some investigation we learned that the entire area was without service. It seems a major cable was cut somewhere "in Geneva" and we won't get service restored until Friday. BTW, Geneva is approximately 10 miles south of us. Luckily, it seems to only have affected the voice lines and not the data lines so we still have DSL. Even our elementary school was without phone service yesterday. I don't know if they got a work around today or not. Hasn't seemed to affect the ATT/Ameritech dudes that are permanently working on the home office box at the entrance to our neighborhood. As I came home today they were there *working* again. Seriously, I can practically give directions to my house by saying, "turn at the two ATT trucks parked at the corner of Foxwood and Burr."

Ironically, one of my online friends decided that today was the day she was going to try to call me instead of communicating over the innerwebs...then I get a message from her, "Answer your damn phone bitch!!!" Hee! Call my cell dumbass!

When you get to my house today, this is what you'll see as you drive in the front yard:

Welcome Spring.
