Yes, this is a knitblog, did you think I forgot?

WIP Hempathy Tank
I do admit that I've been spending more time sewing this week than knitting but I'm still working away on my Lace Style Hempathy tank. I just love this yarn and how it is working up in this pattern.

(Ewwww, the colors look just icky against my background colors. Trust me when I say that this is a lovely color, it just doesn't go well with the bright apple green.)

Jean Jacket socks
This a sock I'm knitting out of Emily's Jean Jacket colorway. I just love this yarn. I'm using a pattern from the Favorite Socks book. I had a minor brain fart at the beginning of the pattern. For whatever reason, I couldn't wrap my mind around the pattern directions, "knit the second stitch on the left needle, knitting into the back of the stitch. Leave stitch on needle and knit first and second stitches on left needle together through the back." I followed these directions to the letter, but it wasn't right. For the similarly brain fart addled, this means to make the stitch into the back of the second stitch FROM THE BACK of the work, not from the front, between the first and second stitches. Doh! Trust me, it made sense at the time.

And yes, those are bamboo dpns that I'm using on this sock. I prefer knitting two socks at once using magic loop. But my 40" size 1s are MIA and I really wanted to start this yarn. I'm flexible, the joy is in the journey. Plus with a nice pattern like this and such perfect yarn, no chance of Second Sock Syndrome.

Time for Idol, gotta go. Go Sanjaya!!!! ;)

  1. Ooooh ~ Lace Style? Do you see the pattern for the Rockin' Regal Cuffs? I made those. Well, one. Half of one. For Knitty Gritty. BARF

I was lucky to see several of the projects finished from the book and I must say, it is on my "to buy but probably never to make" list. ;)

Your work is looking fabulous dahing!

  2. WOW. I love that green lace. The color AND the lace! mmm.

I'm mad at American Idol. I loved Gina and I'm sick of that ditz with the legs. I don't even know why I watch this crap. I'm kind of enjoying this whole Vote For The Worst thing...teehee.

  3. Pam, I completly agree. DD and I were big Gina fans but knew in our hearts she wouldn't last much longer, she's too good to beat the really bad singers (Sanjaya and Hayley) and not phenomenal enough to knock Lakisha and Melinda off their thrones.

We're bored by them all now, this usually doesn't happen until the final 6 or so.
